Average Student Age on the Rise

The average student age in the U.S. has been climbing steadily in recent years. At both Harvard and Notre Dame the average age is now 27. Today’s Hybrid Students Blend Tradition with Technology

The lines have clearly been drawn between those who champion traditional learning and those who believe online education is the only way to go. However, the truth may lie somewhere in the middle. In this real world educational romance the Capulet’s and Montague’s can coexist quite swimmingly, if you allow yourself to see the big picture and appreciate what both offer.

“I would not be able to continue with my learning if not for the world of online education.”  That was a comment I received recently from a very happy father of two who is earning his degree in Psychology.  Three things generally hold people back when it comes to furthering their education; time, money, and desire.

Let’s explore 5 reasons traditional education is outdated.
The Desk-chair: Some things work well together. Peanut butter and jelly, universal remotes, and bear helmets leap to mind. Desk-chairs, however, fall out of my top million list of best combo inventions. Those wretched chairs are uncomfortable at best, and not conducive to learning …

Online Education, A Cheaters Paradise?

Cheat cheat, never beat?
Online classes are perfect for working professionals and career beginners who want to complete or advance their education.  But are online students actually ”earning” their degree?  I’ve spoke to many undergrads who revealed to me how easy it would be to cheat on an exam, and countless others who openly admitted to cutting a few corners.
