Online Education, Same as Traditional Learning?

My Dad used to say the more things change the more they really stay the same, and that’s certainly true of online education when you get right down to it.

Stay on Credit Course with Online Classes

I think the person who set the five class per semester / four year model to secure a bachelors degree was a glutton for punishment. Four years to get a BA or BS is just not very feasible these days. However, some students have turned to online education to help them stay the four year course.

Most parents want their children to go to college. Many parents cannot pay their way, especially if there are several children in the family. There was a time when one could work and pay one’s own way, but that day is long past. Attending college is not in the cards for many, and parents are left feeling that they have somehow failed their children.

5 Reasons Traditional Learning is Outdated

Many students are reluctant to dip their feet into the online world of education. They believe they won’t learn as much as in a traditional classroom setting. However, the reality is that many learn far more outside of that 48×40 room.
Let’s explore 5 reasons traditional education is outdated.
The Desk-chair: Some things work well together. Peanut butter and jelly, universal remotes, and bear helmets leap to mind. Desk-chairs, however, fall out of my top million list of best combo inventions. Those wretched chairs are uncomfortable at best, and not conducive to learning …

Online Education, A Cheaters Paradise?

Cheat cheat, never beat?
Online classes are perfect for working professionals and career beginners who want to complete or advance their education.  But are online students actually ”earning” their degree?  I’ve spoke to many undergrads who revealed to me how easy it would be to cheat on an exam, and countless others who openly admitted to cutting a few corners.
Online exams are usually timed to help combat cheating by expediting the decision making process for the student.  It is assumed that some foundation of knowledge would be required (i.e. completed assignments and reading) to score well on a timed examination.  …

Online Classes Fuse Comfort with Price

Convenience is defined as anything that adds to one’s ease or comfort, and Americans are willing to pay a premium for that service. We tip a valet attendant to park our vehicle. We pay the outrageous markup for a bottle of soda at a convenient store. And we are more than willing to pay the pizza delivery man to deliver that pie right to our doorstep on Friday night. So given our clear propensity to shell out the greenback for life’s simple pleasures it only stands to reason that …
