How Does Distance Learning Work

When you apply to an accredited distance learning program you will be offered classes online.  When you earn your degree through an accredited distance learning program, it is just as valid as any brick and mortar school is, but with the added benefit of ease and convenience.  You can be taking a class while you are on your lunch break at work or while you are cooking dinner.  The ease and simplicity of distance learning cannot be beat.  You don’t need to meet any rigorous requirements to get into an accredited distance learning program.

Requirements for Distance Learning

All that you need in order to get an accredited distance learning degree is a high school diploma, or GED, and a computer.  It is really that simple.  Accredited distance learning programs are easier to apply to and get in then traditional schools because you are not competing with the valuable class room space.  Distance learning can accommodate anybody who wants to attend.  All it takes to take classes from an accredited distant learning program is a little extra time spent on the computer.  But, that is not a problem because we all seem to be so attached to them nowadays anyway.  You can save money earning your degree through an accredited distance learning program.

Save Money through Accredited Distance Learning

Because you can still work full time while getting your degree, you are saving a large amount of money. You will also be saving money on gas and parking as well. Many accredited distance learning programs waive application fees, which is very beneficial when you are applying to several different distance learning programs. Many accredited distance learning programs also provide all the software with the price of tuition, so you will also be saving money on your school supplies. Apply to an accredited distance learning program today and prepare for a better tomorrow!

I currently am in graduate school working on my MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner, my classes are online which requires being independent in studies and not procrastination. This allows me to continue to work full time, attend class online daily at the time that is best for me, while clinicals are of course not online. Without the ability to attend class online I would not be able to go to graduate school as I have to work full time.

Studying online does seems convenient if you don’t have the time so I would say thumbs up, however people have told me that the tests are A LOT harder than a regular class because they know you can look things up in your books.

Online classes are a great alternative to brick and mortar schools, especially if you are older (as I am) and do not want to go into a traditional classroom setting. The only downfall is you HAVE to be disciplined and organized. You are the only person keeping yourself motivated, but if you want that degree, it is worth it!

  24. Dawn says on March 2, 2010 at 10:36 am:

I am taking my first distant class and I love it. the convience, the learning the flexability in when or what time you go to class. It’s great. The opportunity to do your assignment before it is due is great too.

  25. anastasia says on March 2, 2010 at 6:04 am:

    I agree with Dawn.

  29. Chia says on February 26, 2010 at 2:34 pm:

taking classes online isn’t so bad from what I have seen my brothers and friends has. You just got to know you due dates and understand the course and not slack off. It also save you money by traveling if you do travel. I think most online classes the professor should give a phone number and you can talk to them and if need more teaching they’ll be glad to do it.

  30. Mary says on February 25, 2010 at 12:01 pm:

  34. patt says on February 23, 2010 at 4:46 pm:

distance school is not easier but practical to obtain

  35. Dawn Sharp says on February 22, 2010 at 10:37 pm:

Let me clear one thing up. Online classes are not “Easy” by any means! They are substantially more difficult then what you may think. So if your going back to school online, make sure you are 100% dedicated. Or else, you might have a rude awakening

  36. Dawn Sharp says on February 22, 2010 at 10:33 pm:

Before being enrolled at University of Phoenix Online Axia College 13 weeks ago, I had no clue what distant earning even meant. For me it has been heaven sent. I live at least 50 miles from any highly accredited college, or university. I also lack a car or even drivers license, but I am currently taking my third course. My first two were a total success. Oh yea, I forgot to mention, in high school I had difficulty carrying a GPA higher than 2.0. My college GPA is approximatley 3.0. My family is astonished. I knew I had potential, it just took the right learning environment to bring it out of me.

  37. Neyssa says on February 22, 2010 at 1:12 pm:

I’m going back to school online and its going to be very easy. I can go home and not have to travel to go to school.

  38. Ronald says on February 20, 2010 at 3:41 pm:

    great concept
