Computer Based LearningRecently in the world of higher education there has been a lot of buzz about the growth of online education and the stridesĀ  it has made over the last 10 years. Online education has made it possible for working professionals with extensive family responsibilities to work towards a degree. Through online education students can complete their course work when it is convenient and even take classes over school breaks.

Online education is not only making education easier for students in the United States however. Anyone with any kind of internet connection can participate in online classes; even people who would not normally get the chance to obtain a college degree. Online education truly has the potential to improve the quality for life for people around the world.

Online education is reaching people in developing countries and giving them access to some of the best educators in the world. For example, right now hundreds of girls in war-torn Afghanistan are continuing their education and participating in online programs. These girls are able to take classes in English, computer science, business and anything else that interests them. Their education allows them to connect with people around the world and gives them the skills they need to help improve their country. The online setting also protects them from the sad dangers they may face by attending classes at a traditional school.

The development of online education provides so many opportunities for students across the globe. A higher education is no longer only accessible to people with access to a campus. With more educated people in the world more opportunities will arise and more men and women will have the chance to make a difference in their communities.
