Top 5 Reasons Online Classes Rock
At this point the cat isn’t only out of the bag, as it pertains to online degrees, it’s a full grown lioness on the prowl. Online degrees were once viewed as a gimmicky soiree into the world of higher education, but oh how things have changed.
I must admit, even I was cynical in the late 90’s when the Online degree rage was taking flight. It felt like a scam. Would my degree be worth anything? Would my resume be passed over time and time again because of how I earned my degree? Never did I believe it would be more revered by many hiring managers who believe online recipients are more versatile. These students are viewed as self motivated independent thinkers who are driven to succeed; all traits which transfer nicely in the workplace.
Yes, Online degrees hold value in the marketplace, but it’s the value outside the virtual classroom that attracts many students to an Online degree. Lets take a look at the Top 5 reasons Online classes have become so popular.
1. Comfort: Having the luxury of taking notes with one hand while shoveling in Doritos with the other is pretty sweet indeed. A comfortable environment produces better results.
2. Convenience: No need to worry if your tank is on “E” or traffic is backed up on the interstate to get to school. When you’re at home, you are at school.
3. Flexibility: Lesson plans are available for you to review anytime throughout the week and tests are usually available over a three day period to fit with your busy schedule.
4. Availability: While campuses are restricted to the number of classes they can offer students based on staffing and capital resources, Online degree programs have no such restrictions. The number of classes you can take is practically endless.
5. Time: Most Online classes do not have specific start-up dates and times. You can jump in whenever you like. In addition, if you have the desire, you may complete your class early in most cases. Many eight week classes are completed in 4-6 weeks by ambitious students.

Many employers indeed believed online degree holders are more flexible and possess the quality and characteristics of an IPOD, without which, online student can’t possible get that coveted online degree: Initiative, Patience, Organization and Desire.
Translate or apply that in a working environment and you have a very productive, dependable and highly successful employee in the making.
online degrees are the same. your still paying 20 grand a year. it better be just as important!!
I have taken an online class before at the local community college, and I think the advantages are great but it takes a lot of personal responsibility to log-in and do the work, besides just showing up for mandatory class.
i’ve been considering online classes and i think im convinced
Online helped me graduate with an AAS in 2 years while working a full-time job!
Unfortunately, I have focus issues, I need to be in a school setting.
Well being a military spouse, an online degree is the only way to do it since we move around every year.
Whether you are beginning a new career or getting a certification or training in your existing profession, online courses are the best option. With online courses, employers are even more willing to help their employees and encourage them as it does not interfere with their work and can managed at their own pace.
I would love to do online classes. They are more convient for you
time is the best reason, but being at home would make me be lazy
Would do it, but they don’t have the stuff I need
Hello, I have taken online classes many times. They are convenient, informative and work well in a busy schedule. I’m so glad that they are an option. Thanks!
this could possibly change someone’s mind about attending an online college because alot of people aren’t interested.
@Will: What stuff are you looking for?
online classes are worthwhile
Online degrees gives you more time to study.
I totally agree and am now considering taking some online courses to get them out of the way. thanx:)
Online education sounds pretty cool. You could be taking classes and having a slumber party at the same time. Multi-task!
I’ve taken a few and I found them very challenging while still being flexible to my schedule and requirements.
I have thought about doing my classes online because of how far I have to drive to school and it will not be fun. And the prices of gas today, I wouldn’t be able to afford it.
I agree with the points made. I actually took online for the first time this summer!! I like it a little, just a little, better than going to an actually class. As far as getting a degree online, i’m not to fond of. =)
WOW I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT ONLINE SCHOOLING IN THAT WAY.
I MIGHT TRY IT OUT.
this convinced me to take online classes!!!!!!!
Interesting. I have taken 1 online class before and was not successful. Maybe if I would have read this article before.
Online classes are a great convience to a student with a busy schedule and many credit hours. I am a nursing school student and I take all my non-nursing courses online because its much easier and I only have to log in about 3 times a week.
I love my online classes! It is a great way to move forward in your career and still be able to maintain a job, as well as have a little fun without having to worry about being late for class.
I have taken many online classes. Its awesome!
I agree. Online courses are much more convenient.
This was an aswsome thing
I didn’t see online classes as an otion, but i do now!
I take a few online classes and loved them! I enjoyed them because you didnt have to go to campus, you could sit in your bed and learn!
get your degree on your own time. flexible!
Online classes are good for the gen y people but are a little difficult for the baby boomers. I can say there is a lot of tutoring assistance though and one can travel at their own pace. All in all I like it.
This is very helpful. I will consider taking online courses in the future
I really like online classes. And i agree with everything that they wrote. They are really nice to have, and I love em!!
I’ve taken an online course, and i absolutely loved it because i did it on my own time, and it was very flexible.
Reading this article has influenced to really take a few online courses. Thanks!
awesome
liked it
online classes require a lot of discipline and willingness to get the work done in case you are in a group that doesn’t work well together or if someone drops out. I enjoyed it a lot because I was able to choose a group on the west coast and I lived on the east coast since I was an insomniac. The work load can really tire you out but if you pace yourself right by getting the syllabus in a timely manner, reading as much as possible, and keeping a line of communication open to other group members and the facilitator/instructor you can be successful.
Online courses are nice, but can’t compare to the classromm environment and exchange of information.
I took an online class several times one year in high school, and another time during the summer. I had back surgery and I couldn’t really leave the house that often and walk around from class to class. I took a Political Science class online and it was one of the easiest A’s I have received. I recommend if you take an online class to set aside a weekend to complete all the online and homework requirements, so that way, you can have more time to spend on papers and studying for tests. I am going to take two more in the fall in addition to other classes that I’m taking at my university. I recommend taking online classes if at all possible, but don’t make your entire curriculum based on it if there is no reason to do so. (i.e. if you have children or work, then online classes are the best).
It’s great to know the student doesn’t have to worry paying for room and meal plan costs.
its great plus it makes sense
I think that there are benefits to taking online courses but for me its easier just to wake up and go to class because I know I will get the work done
Online classes are not for me i need hands on. In my opinion you learn better in a class room setting. well not for all people it just depends on the person. i wnat to fell the actually college experience. Also it lazy just to sit in the house on your butt on the computer
I think that an online class would be just the same as a normal lecture. In most classes of my lecture style classes, our professors have started to mandate referring to and commenting on a class blog. It ignites conversation the same as raising one’s hand during class, and even more becuase it is easy for the same set of students to be inclined to open their mouths in class, but on the computer, you lose the shyness factor. Everyone is able to share their ideas and opinions. An online education is definitely a great choice for some people.
This is Great, Online College is the best
I would have to think about taking online classes.
This is a good idea but Id rather go to a university for the full experience.
I have found that online school has been the only way I can succeed at school. Traditional classroom schedules are virtually impossible for me to keep. With my schedule online school is my saving grace to receive my degree finally.
I have been in online classes for over a year now, and I love it. The convience of having classes at home, and doing your work anytime of day. I also have enjoyed the professors, and they give great help on anything we have a question on.
I have taken online classes in the past and i totally agree with this article. the number one reason i took online courses was for the flexibility. I completed my coursework in the wee hours of the morning because i found that this time of the day was more conducive for me to get my work done. Hey – it may not work for everyone – but it definitely works for me!
I love online classes because it is easy and you can work at your own pace. I’m a fast worker and I don’t like going the speed of the class so this is the best way for me to get classes over and done with quickly.
I’ve never taken online classes, but they may be helpful.
I’m starting to take online classes. Its very good with expecting moms. I don’t have to worry about leaving my son somewhere else while I go to college classes. Also my online classes are a twenty four hour campus so I can get on whenever
i want to attend a college in sc
Online classes are soo much easier and they are faster than taking the actual class.
took an on-line class this summer love it
Wow thats some nice information anyways how do people come up with this stuff all over each site they all have something to say but its good stuff.
Yeah,, I agree. Online College would be so much more relaxing.
I don’t like online classes. I prefer to be in a school setting.
online classes are for stduents who have very business schedule
Im so convinced about taking online classes.
I AGREE WITH JUST FEW OF THE REASONS. IT DEPENDS ON THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE STUDENT
I do not, and have never liked online classes. You start off excited and enthusiastic about the class, then it soon becomes a hassle and a pain.
i guess thier ok… i would rather have the real experience in school..
Online classes are very convenient for a lot of people who don’t have time to be on campus for school. Online classes is on your time basis. I probably wouldn’t need to take online classes. But it sure would work for people who have children, or work full time.
I don’t know about this
Taking online classes helped me a lot, because I had more time to work, make money, and set my own time for learning and studying. You just have to be more self motivated, I think, because it can be more difficult to sit at the computer when you really just want to go out to the clubs.
I did not know online class could be so helpful. MOst people think its boring or you dont learn as much as in a class room but its the same. Your not missing out on anything.
I think online classes are great. They open up more educational opportunities.
Wow. It actually sounds pretty nice, don’t have to worry about what your going to wear or traffic, but then you don’t get to meet other people and that would be kind of lame.
I have taken online courses, I think it is all about discipline. If you have it, go for it. I must say Science and Math are the hardest ones, so I will never take an online class in Science or Math.
I haven’t had an online yet, but hope to next semester
wow…. this really changed my mind about online classes…. i’ll probably look into it
This article makes me more inclined to enroll in online classes. All of my friends complain about the difficulty of their online classes so i have been afraid to take them even though it would be helpful to me. Thanks!
I like online classes because of flexibility.
I can easily do classes at night or day or just whenever i feel like it and if i miss a day i can go back and look at stuff easily.
After reading this i do belive that online college can be an option for me. I think that the money that is saved is well worth it!
I don’t know…this article makes a convincing argument, but I still think I want the classroom experience.
i was wondering about this. but im glad i saw this
it sounds like getting an online degree is a pretty good idea!
Online classes are so useful for people who are busy out of the education-life.
Online classes sound very useful and ineresting.
online classes sound very useful and interesting to me.
