Sue First, Ask Questions Later
Reading an article about a student suing her former school this week reminded me of a woman who spilled hot coffee on her lap and then sued McDonald’s for the coffee being too hot years ago. We have become a sue first ask questions later kind of society. Doesn’t anyone take personal responsibility anymore? The jobless graduate in question filed a complaint with her school accusing them of being responsible for her inability to find work and is seeking $70,000 in tuition retribution
Her stance is that they did not do enough to help her secure a job. Are you kidding me? Is this individual that out of tune with the economic crisis in America? Far more seasoned workers with MBA’s are collecting unemployment checks. That’s not to say I’m not sympathetic to her plight, but are you serious?
The school sends her email alerts when full time employment opportunities matching her background are available. What more does she expect from the school – a valet service to escort her to interviews? Getting a job in this market has been stressful on everyone. As I sit here typing this blog I am very appreciative to even have a job. And though it would be a tough sell to this individual, many unemployed are turning back to school to add versatility to their skill set and make themselves more marketable.
By enrolling in online masters, doctoral, and certificate degree programs millions of Americans are furthering their education and helping their own cause. And while I can’t sit here and guarantee more education will land you a job, I can guarantee you it will improve your chances.
Search over 200 accredited online colleges and more than 2,000 online degree programs to find the online education program that’s right for you.

Hey, ok, I get it, I guess – but does this really work?
