This Saturday July 30, 2011, in sunny Los Angelos, sixty-two students will graduate from the nation’s leading fully online law school. Thirty-one professionals will proudly get their Juris Doctor degree, and thirty-one will earn their Executive Juris Doctor degree. Concord Law School of Kaplan University will proudly honor the class made up of doctors, engineers and business professionals at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

Online JD Program celebrates the achievements of 62 graduates this weekend

Concord virtually opened their doors in 1998 offering online law degrees to professionals everywhere. Law is so necessary in so many disciplines, yet online juris doctor programs are few and far between, because their accredidation is only immediately recognized in the state of California.

Over the past few years both Concord Law School and Loyola University Chicago School of Law have partnered in providing online LL.M. and Master of Jurisprudence degree programs in health law as well as a newly launched online Master of Jurisprudence in Children’s Law and Policy. Because of this, the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony this weekend is David Yellen, the dean and professor of law at Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Dean David Yellen has an impressive professional background having also been dean at Hofstra University 2001-2004, a professor at Villanova University School of Law, Cornell Law School, and New York Law School. His has written extensively and testified in criminal sentencing and juvenile justice. Yellen earned his Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Princeton, and his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Cornell University.

Congratulations to the Concord Law School graduating class! We wish you the best of luck!
