Penn State has been a central Pennsylvania institution for more than 150 years, but to hear Wayne Smutz tell it, it’s time to start branching out. Through the growing popularity of online education, Smutz hopes to bring a larger community to Penn State. The World Campus works with the individual colleges at Penn State to stream traditional curricula through the Internet to reach different types of learners, like adult and international students, Smutz said.
