Best Online Business Programs?
One of the most versatile degrees a student can get is in business. There are very few professions where having a business degree would not benefit employees. Business skills, that include managing profits, expenses, employees and clientele, open more job opportunities (with higher pay) for individuals in almost every industry. Even non-profit companies need individuals with business saavy to make sure operations run smoothly and goals are met.
If you’re like a lot of students, you may have heard a lot about the potential of a business degree, but never knew how it could benefit you, or did not know the specifics of a business program. In this post we better explain why a business degree can benefit you, and suggest the best online business schools where you can earn a degree or certificate in business online.
Why Enroll in a Business Degree?
As I mentioned, business is a versatile and very broad category. Students can choose from a LOT of different concentrations, focusing on what would be most helpful to begin or further a career. The most common concentrations include finance, marketing, administration, accounting, and economics, but there are many more. Whether you are a business novice looking into online accounting schools, or have some classes under your belt, a business degree can boost your resume and make you more marketable to employers.
Why Online Business Degrees?
The benefits of an online degree are obvious. It involves no travel, lower costs, and is easy to fit into a busy schedule- perfect for those people with full-time jobs who may be looking into online mba schools. Even if you’re a first time college student, getting your degree online saves time (you can often complete your degree faster) and money. Online business schools offer the same types of programs you will find at traditional universities, for lower costs. If there is one thing I caution first-time online students about, it is to make sure you are disciplined enough to handle the less structured format of an online degree. Because students have the capability to work when it is convenient for them, many let effort slide and their grades suffer. If you’re thinking about getting a business degree online, do not make the mistake of thinking it will easier than a traditional program.
Where to Find Online Business Schools
So now that you know why an online business degree is a good idea, here is a list of some of the best best online schools to help jumpstart your college search.
Strayer University
Strayer University Online offers roughly 30 different business degree programs ranging from Associate degrees to MBAs and is one of the top online schools for marketing.
Kaplan University
Kaplan University also has an extensive list of programs to choose from, including many online mba degrees such as MBAs in finance, entrepreneurship, and project management.
Capella University
If you’re looking into online doctorate degrees, Capella University has the larges selection of business doctorate programs. These include concentrations in project management and human resources management.
There are a lot of options out there for the business-minded students, and by taking advantage of them, you could boost your career (and your wallet)!

I think in a few years from now achieving an online degree will be the new thing. Although I rather attend school, I think this is a great thing for parents and students who will not be able to commute back and forth due their hectic schedule. It will benefit working parents and students.
Great article!
great article and helpful
Good Information! and very interesting
Interesting article. With the changing dynamic in our society it’s great that education is changing to meet the needs of different groups. I like a traditional classroom setting, but for some they need something more accessible.
I will be taking some online courses this summer!
This is a great article. I am currently pursing a degree in Business Management, and am doing a combined online and in class education.
I came upon this page by scholarshippoints.com and wanted to redem my point but cant find the code on here. Help please. Thanks.
I don’t really think online classes are for me. This article does make some good points, though.
This article contained a lot of usefull information.
Awesome information! Thanks.
Interesting. You need to be very self-motivated to accomplish an online-education though!
very informative, but not sure online education is for me.
great article
Informative!
Thank you, this was very informative. I’ve never taken an online course before and am not sure if I should because I just seem to motivate myself more in class. Just due to the aspect that I am “there” or so to speak unlike online courses, but this does intrigue me.
Those are some thoughts I had at first, but some online classes are structured to get you more involved – like Westwood college, for example, check out the format of their classes: http://learn.westwood.edu/newcoursedemo2009
You don’t have to be there for the lecture, but you are required to participate in an online forum discussion and you have the ability to play and replay lectures – which is great, and allows you to watch the lectures when your prepared to learn, which may differ in time and day each week. Learn more about Westwood on our site: http://www.edvisors.com/schools/westwood-college/
Thank you for informing me and I will be sure to check it out.
