Online Certificate Programs: Why They Help
If you’re a student with a career, getting an online certificate could be a wise career move. Unlike other degrees, certificates are mostly used to supplement a degree and provide a more in depth knowledge of a certain discipline. Not only can they help further your current career, but they are easy to complete while remaining employed full-time. They can also be helpful to start a new career path, opening new opportunities for students. Here are some common online certificate programs you could look into.
Paralegal
Online paralegal schools will teach students to assist lawyers and prepare for trials. Paralegals are important within the justice system as they help to keep things moving smoothly. Whether you are looking for a salary boost or wanting to change careers, getting your online paralegal certificate can open new doors!
Medical Billing
Another profession that is on the rise is medical coding and billing. What’s great about getting into this profession is that you can start off with just a certificate. Some employers will also let you work from home part time, which is great for parents of young children. Getting your online medical billing certificate can provide both income, and flexibility. Penn Foster Career School’s online medical coding and billing certificate is a great option, plus, they have a plethora of other certificate programs, so you’re sure to find one that interests you.

Yes it does sound good, but in todays market jobs are hard to get and when choosing a individual for a job most business are going to look for someone who has the experience vs a certificate. So do your homework and make sure you select the right online degree.
This certificate sounds like a very helpful tool.
It’s important to do thorough research when choosing a certificate program but there are few draw backs that are seen with certificate programs. Whether you’re expanding on knowledge or learning something new the benefits far out-way any challenges one may face. With the difficult job market individuals need to do the most they can to stand out from the crowd and a certificate in your specialty is a surefire way to do that.
Yes a certificate can help you stand out popular certifications for this are Project Management, Six Sigma, Supply Chain Management, IS Security, Business Analysis, HR Management and Leadership.
The medical coding one would be great but most of the colleges
listed on the link DO NOT have proper accreditation meaning
if your hope is to go to an associates or bachelors afterward
it won’t be possible. So it sucks there’s so many degree mills
to bother you and put you in debt I can’t believe america let’s
these places stay in business well wait yes I can capitalism at work.
Yes, be wary of diploma mills when searching for colleges, but these scams are easy to spot! Check for accreditation, this will ensure the school is not a scam. The schools we list here are accredited, for example Penn Foster, which “has been providing distance learning to students around the world since 1890,” is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council.
A certificate is a stand-alone degree, it is not generally credit-based, so if you are interested in finishing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree, a certificate program would not count towards these degrees. People generally get a certificate to get into a specialty area. Certificates can be earned instead of / without a degree – such as in the medical billing profession certificate training will suffice in most cases, OR online certificates can be earned in addition to a Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees. Many will choose to earn an MBA, for example, then complete an online graduate certificate program in a specialty such as internet marketing (http://www.edvisors.com/schools/university-of-san-francisco/certificate/internet-marketing-master-s-cert.php) – which helps them get into a really specific niche and supplements their prior education.
Thanks for your input!
Well I wish You Luck
I really need to win a scholarship soon
what school do you go to?
In my opinion, one does no need nor heed to pay for online courses, school is more significant when being taught on campus while online learning should be taken aback by natively absorbing free information.
I disagree with your statements very much. I am a online student and the classes are not what you think they are. There are weekly requirements in a discussion board about the weeks topic, and we are required to attend a hour long seminar online that is taught my our professor. There are papers to write and other requirements.
@Stephanie, thanks for sharing! Too many people don’t understand how an online class works… Online education is growing and advancing practically by the day, so there are many options, but none are the “easy” way out. Which school do attend or take classes at??
