Online Education Has Economic Advantages

2 December 2009 1,031 views 35 Comments

KeyboardThere has been a lot of debate about whether or not online education is a money saver. There are definitely valid points on both side of the argument. The truth is that online education does save you money, but just not for the reasons that most people think.

The cost of online classes is pretty much the same as on-campus classes. However, there are other forms of cost savings. Usually, online education degrees are streamlined so you do not need to take as many classes to complete a program as you would at a liberal arts college. Therefore you are paying for fewer classes and saving money on the long run.

Secondly, online education saves you transportation money. Since you can complete your online courses from the comfort of your own home you do not need to pay for gas or public transportation to get to campus.

Finally, online education can save you money because you can continue to work while you complete your education. Online education is so convenient that it can work around your schedule. If you work during the day you can complete your coursework at night or on the weekends. The opposite is true too!

If you are considering an online degree or even just one online class, Edvisors.com can help you find the right school and the right degree program to fit your individual needs.

Online classes is the most convenient option out there today. A student who is a full time employee, has limited time to sit in class. Not only is it a good idea, but its not time consuming as it would the time necessary to drive to the school.

Online learning is great for students who have other obligations such as working full time, this flexibility allows the student to continue to work and complete their study and assignments daily which correspond with their availability.

Online seems like it would be a good idea, your busy with an occupation such or you have a family, but if you just a student I’d say go to a college. Being social is an important aspect of life.

I agree with the article. Online education is a money and life saver especially for non traditional students. I have 4 children at some and not so long ago I was working. If it were not for the fact I went to school on line, I would not be working on my degeree. So I thank the online schooling trendsetters who made a way for me to raise my family and still persue my dreams!

i personally believe that online education does not give you the full collage experience and does not neccisarily save you money because if you have a question or you dont understand what you are learning you dont have a teacher you can personally go talk to in order to get a full understanding.

    ONLINE EDUCATION

I think online education helps, for example I know a kid who in 10th grade but he can not read ! I think it is helpful to all those who need it like him and kids who are sick and can not go to school. At least it helps them how to read, their math, english, and other subjects to learn . I am a senior in high school and currently took advantage of the dual enrollment for senior English online and even though there is a cost it will benefit me in the long run when I start attending college. More students should be involved and the schools should push this to the ones that are capable of the load.

  34. Alexis says on December 2, 2009 at 9:35 pm:

good idea, but you don’t get the experience like you would at a on-campus college.
